Our Menu

Our menu is a path that unfolds along two fundamental lines: products seasonality and tradition.

Some dishes are present throughout the whole opening period: the noble salami of Giarolo, the jelly ham and mayonnaise roll - in Italian the "involtino" - the famous gnocchi with milk froth, the chocolate bunet alla piedmontese; beside of them, our menu is always related to the alternating of the seasons, creating a varied and fresh menu. Depending on the season, among our antipasti you will find many specialities like our veal, the "vitello tonnato", ricotta cheese frittata, vegetable pies with herbs from our own garden, zucchini flowers in batter, fresh mushroom salads, toma terrine with black truffles and our paté made of three livers.

The lunch continues with the primi piatti, that we prepare by hand every morning: egg-shaped taglierini, ennobled in season by the fragrant white truffle of Val Curone; stuffed pasta: meat ravioli with sauce, pumpkin flavored with a few drops of balsamic vinegar, with herbs and scented with sage, with truffle dusting fondue. And last but not least: our minestrone, chickpeas with pork ribs and porcini mushroom noodles.

Among the secondi piatti, which also represents the expression of our centuries-old history, we find the "beef in hell" (in italian "manzo all'inferno") - prepared according to an old house recipe -, the tripe with beans ("la trippa"), the veal meatloaf stew, the Savoiarde and of course the classic "bollito misto" with mixed boiled meat that you eat with the typical "bagnetto verde" and "mostarda di Voghera".

Before passing on to the dessert, you can try our selection of cheese. We are proud to offer local cheese of the highest quality.

To round of your meal, we serve a vast selection of desserts: panna cotta, creme caramel with hazelnut grains, chestnut "montebianco" with whipped cream, fruit sorbets from the valley and finally the homemade ice cream, which in the sixties made the "Corona" and Mr. Giovanni famous for the ice-cream cups: "Zanzibar", "Autumn", "Fourth State" and "Secret of the Sahara".

The selection of wines is especially attentive to the territory of the Tortona hills, home of Timorasso and excellent red wines and we are proud to represent the best local wine producers like Vigneti Massa, Mariotto, La Colombera, Renato Boveri, I Carpini, Andrea Mutti, Luigi Boveri just to mention a few, but of course we also have significant ones from the rest of Italy.
